The ruling All Progressives (APC) on Friday said President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed that he never directed anyone to remove Governor Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the Caretaker Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and its Secretary, Senator John Akpanudoedehe.
Buni is currently on medical vacation abroad while Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello has taken over as the acting national chairman.
On Wednesday, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, disclosed that President Buhari gave APC governors a directive to remove Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni as the chairman of the caretaker committee of the APC.!
However in a post on its social media handle on Friday, the APC said the President has confirmed that he never gave anyone the directive.
It reads “Breaking News!
His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed he didn’t direct anyone to remove the CECPC Chairman, Mai Mala Buni. More information soon”.
