Emefiele who has been. evasive on reports of his rumored ambition may be well in the race and is believed to contest on the platform of the Ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Some months back, it was gathered that the ‘cabal’ around President Muhammadu Buhari has been actively working to ensure the emergence of Emefiele as the Party’s flagbearer in 2023.
The move was reportedly being initiaed by Thisday founder, Nduka Obaigbena and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
So far in the APC, Rotimi Amaechi, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Yahaya Bello, and Rochas Okorocha have declared interest in battling for the exalted position.
