Some aides to the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), have reportedly been grilled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The Cable reports that the EFCC quizzed the aides for allegedly selling presidential pardon.

The President Buhari, had pardoned about 159 convicts, including a former Governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye, and former Governor Jolly Nyame of Taraba State, who are both in prison for diverting billions of naira of public funds.

Fayemi, Akpabio, Oshiomhole Join Presidential

All is set today for the Ekiti State governor and chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Dr Kayode Fayemi, to officially declare his bid for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, will also declare their presidential bids today.

Fayemi, who is on the last lap as the governor of Ekiti, will be the 16th stalwart of the APC to show interest in the presidential ticket of the APC.

Students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have taken to the streets to protest the ongoing strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which entered 80th day.

The Nation learnt students of the institution blocked the ever-busy Benin-Lagos Expressway, school gate and Ring Road.

Ondo Amotekun Nabs 37 Suspected Criminals

The Ondo state Commander of Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, has disclosed that about 37 suspected criminals were apprehended across the 18 local government areas of the state by the state security outfit during the Eid-El-Fitri celebration.

Adeleye who told newsmen in Akure, the state capital, said the feat was part of efforts put in place by the state government to ensure a crime-free Eid-El-Fitri celebration and check criminal activities in the state.

Enugu Youth Group Begins Door-to-door Campaign On Voter Registration

A group under the aegis of Enugu Youth Organisation on Tuesday, embarked on a door-to-door sensitisation campaign for the residents, especially the youths, to get involved in the election process to ensure that credible people are elected in 2023 general elections.

The youth group matched major streets from Okpara Square through Independence layout to ESBS, IMT to Nkponkiti to Presidential road, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium to Holy Ghost, Chris Chemist to Okpara Avenue to ShopRite, and Ogui Junction to Otigba Junction through New Haven Junction to Enugu State Government House.

Wike Visits Yar’adua’s Mum In Kastina
