The National Executive of Igala Cultural and Development Association Under the leadership of Alh. Sediq Abubakar Ahmodu has held her executive council meeting.

Presiding Alh. Sediq thanked the Executve members from various states and local government areas for the prompt attendance despite short notice and appreciated each and everyone present for believing in Igala race despite obvious challenges.
He used the occasion to congratulate all the elected representatives from the senatorial district in the just concluded 2023 general elections and admonished them to always remember Igala first in all their decisions aimed at prompting good governance.
According to Mr. President, Igala Kingdom can not play a second fiddle in the forthcoming 2023 governorship election and urged all Igala aspirants across political parties to close ranks by ensuring Igala picks the ticket of some major political parties in the state.
He assured members in attendance that, he will write letters to all zonal chairmen of the parties in Kogi East with a view to actualize the said objective.
Various speakers from selected states and local government branches spoke in appreciation of the leadership quality of Mr. President and assured him of their support at all times.
It could be recalled that more than 20 Igala sons and daughters have indicated interest to contest for the position of governor of Kogi State across political parties, despite the right of all interested applicants to seek for the highest office in the state, he urged those who have no record of achievements to please look inward and support strong contenders from Igala land and this will enable Igala retake her rightful position in the state.
Other issue discussed includes the effective and efficient management of Igala House.
There was a resolution that, letters should be written and dispatched to all the zonal party chairmen from Kogi East over the association’s stand as regard to 2023 Kogi State governorship election.
Highlights of the meeting was the conferment of Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) Merit Award of Officer of Igala Kingdom (OIK) to some national and local government officials of the association for their contributions for peace, unity and development of ICDA in particular and Igala Kingdom in general.
Prayers for peace, progress and development of ICDA, Igala Kingdom and the entire State was observed.
