FG Declare Public Holidays For Eid-el-Fitr Celebration

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government in a statement released on Sunday. The statement was signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako.

According to Channels Television, the minister extended his congratulations to all Muslim faithful for successfully completing the fasting period during the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized the significance of the virtues practiced during Ramadan, such as kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians, regardless of religious affiliation, to embrace unity as a means to improve and achieve peace and oneness in the country. He also extended his warm wishes to all Muslim faithful, wishing them a joyful Eid-el-Fitr celebration filled with peace, blessings, and the favor of Allah
