KOGI – The Kogi State Government has expressed strong disapproval of the attack on Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka at the Supreme Court following the resolution of the electoral disputes involving the Governors of Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa States.
The SDP Governorship candidate for the 2023 Kogi election reportedly faced an attack by some thugs in Abuja after the Supreme Court ruling.
In a statement on Sunday, the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, through the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, strongly criticized the actions of the thugs as savage, uncivilized, and a serious threat to the justice system.
He called on all Nigerians to avoid taking matters into their own hands and urged law enforcement to apprehend the culprits and ensure they face legal consequences. This is to deter others and safeguard the integrity and security of our courts nationwide.
“We urge all Nigerians to support the path of constitutionalism and unity, which are the core values of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. We all must support his lofty policies and values for the progress and development of our dear nation” he said
