According to a report by Channels Television, President Muhammadu Buhari has instructed Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, to immediately take over the affairs of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The President instructed on Wednesday at a meeting with the governor in the United Kingdom.
This news is against what El-Rufai and Akeredolu spread on the news channels about a week ago when Governor Bello Sanni of Niger State took over the APC caretaker committee members in a Gestapo manner. El-Rufai even said that Buni will not return as APC caretaker chairman but as a governor. Will they now retract their statement and seek the wisdom/repentance from their fellow governor.
Although, Buni has committed some atrocious activities at the party. He hid a court case from the party and the party’s convention was as well uncertain to many aspirants in the party. That is why the action taken by President Muhammadu Buhari is regarded as the best way to solve the crisis rocking the party.
The APC is a party that is just going through its second phase after spending just 8 years in governance, it will be very unfortunate for the party to split in just 8 years. And that is the reason why the founding fathers of the party must be made up their minds to make sure the party is together.
